Update on the Development of the 2025 Selection Processes

We are pleased to provide an update on the ongoing development of the 2025 GB selection processes. Firstly, we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated in the online consultation calls. The turnout was fantastic, and we deeply appreciate the insightful discussions and thoughtful considerations shared during the calls.

Following the initial consultations, drafts were produced and reviewed by the Competition Climbing Performance Group (CCPG) for preliminary feedback. We are now excited to open a second round of public consultation for these drafts.

Second Round of Public Consultation

We invite everyone to review the drafts attached and share their feedback. Please send your comments to Lucinda@thebmc.co.uk. The consultation period will close on 5 July 2024. We will collate all feedback and publish the final versions on 12 July 2024.

International Competition Allocation Process

In parallel with the selection process consultation, we will be developing the international competition allocation process. This will be based on the feedback received thus far. The drafts for the second round of public consultation will be published on 15 July 2024, with the consultation closing on 5 August 2024. The final publication of these documents will be on 16 August 2024.

Important Considerations

These processes and documents are being developed based on the current indicative information. However, please be aware that adjustments may be necessary due to potential changes in IFSC rules, competition calendars, and funding decisions from Sport England and UK Sport for the Los Angeles Olympic cycle. We appreciate your continued support and engagement in shaping a fair and effective selection process for the 2025 season.
